The other day I headed out for a walk with Cricket. As I turned down into one of the neighborhood streets, I was going over things in my mind. Sifting through what issues to look at during our walk as I meditated. I go back and forth daydreaming and active meditation during our walks. As we were walking by a tree with a thick trunk, all of a sudden, I saw a goose with a serious injury right in front of us. I immediately felt that his front chest had a break. And his neck was bent at a terrible angle. He was struggling to walk, stumbling and falling. I was shocked and upset. I focused on calming my strong emotions. The goose kept walking out into the street and as cars were driving, I picked Cricket up and stepped out to direct drivers to slow down and go around. I told the goose he could get hit and asked him if he wanted help. I could see he wasn’t in his body; it was like talking to an empty space. I was getting upset again and immediately started praying for help to come ‘right now please!’. Then a woman drove by slowly with her window open. I said ‘Do you have a phone? Can you help me please?’ She parked and came towards us with her phone out. ‘Thank you, thank you!’ I thought. I don’t bring my phone with me on our walks. I started explaining what was going on and then across the street, an older man stopped was yelling at the drivers to be careful. While his demeanor was very grumpy, I sensed that he had mistrust towards people but was feeling very protective and kindly towards the goose. The cavalry had arrived! I asked the woman to call animal control who then contacted a wildlife resource to pick up the goose. At this point it was getting late and I needed to leave. I explained to the goose what was going to happen, and if he wanted to stay in the body and continue, that he needed to give the techs helping him clear signs he wanted to live in case they decided the injuries were too problematic for recovery. I explained that was still a chance he might be put to sleep depending on if there was a place for him to recover and other factors. I checked with both people to see if either was willing to stay till help arrived and thankfully the man was very vehement about staying. I thanked both of them for their help and explained I needed to go. As we left, I prayed again, asking that if the goose wanted to stay, that resources be made available to support him and asked that the experience play out to everyone’s highest benefit. I then thanked the goose, sent him love, and wished him well on his path. A couple days later I checked in with him, and he was doing better and in his body. I asked him about the experience, and he said it was a lesson in releasing old energy about previous trauma and experiencing trust in the divine. To be open to receive and when you ask for help it is done. I asked him about his body, and he felt his body would recover. Despite the difficulty of witnessing his pain, this was a tremendous healing in releasing past pain and getting to experience help coming when I asked. Have you experienced help coming when you asked for it? Did it happen in a way that was unexpected or unusual?
